Product Overview

Host Species: Rabbit
Clonality: Polyclonal
Isotype: IgG
Immunogen: Synthetic phospho-peptide from residues around Thr180/Tyr182 of rat p38/MAPK, conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH).
Immunogen Species: Rat
Species Reactivity: Human
Gene Name: MAPK14
Molecular Weight: 39 kDa
RRID: AB_2492195
Purification: Antigen affinity-purified from pooled serum on sequential phospho- and non-phosphopeptide affinity columns
Physical State: Liquid
Buffer: 10 mM HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 μg per mL BSA and 50% Glycerol
Specificity: Recognizes endogenous ~39 kDa p38 MAPK protein phosphorylated at Thr180/Tyr182. Labeling is abolished by pre-adsorption with the phosphopeptide used as antigen, and not by the matching non-phosphopeptide.
Application Notes: Recommended starting dilution: WB 1:1000; IHC 1:250
Testing: Western blot on every lot.
Storage Conditions: -20°C Short term, -80°C Long term
Handling: Supplied in 50% glycerol, so aliquots can be drawn at -20°C without thawing the stock.
Shipping Conditions: Dry ice
Expiration: 1 year from date of receipt when stored at -20°C (short term) or -80°C (long term); aliquot and avoid repeated freeze/thaw. Product quality is guaranteed to meet Pel-Freez Biologicals' specifications for this period when stored as indicated.

Frequently Asked Questions
What dilution should I use for your antibodies in western blot, ELISA or formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue?
A typical starting dilution for antibodies in immunoassays is 1:1000. Consider adjusting the dilution depending on your experimental conditions, to increase or decrease the signal-to-noise ratio, etc.
Should I store antibodies at -20°C or -80°C, and should I aliquot them on delivery?
Either is fine, but avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Our antibodies contain glycerol, so they do not freeze at -20°C but do at -80°C. If you will use the antibody within a few weeks, store it at -20°C. For long-term storage, split it into single-use aliquots and store at -80°C.
