Pig Serum Sterile Trace-Hemolyzed Heat Inactivated
Whole blood is collected from healthy pigs of mixed breed, either sex and fasted at the time of slaughter. The blood is refrigerated within 6 hours, processed within 24 hours and frozen at -20°C. The serum is later thawed, pooled and passed through a 0.22 micron filter, bottled and returned to –20°C. The bottled sterile serum is then thawed in cool water and heat inactivated at 56°C for 30 minutes. The heat-inactivated serum is then stored at -20°C.
