Rabbit Thymus Acetone Powder
Thymus glands from young New Zealand White or Californian rabbits (8–12 weeks, either sex, fasted at slaughter), frozen on dry ice within 30 minutes of slaughter and dehydrated to a powder by a proprietary acetone method.Often used to pre-adsorb antisera and remove antibodies that bind tissue proteins.

How are acetone powders used for antibody pre-adsorption?
Acetone powders are tissue proteins dried with acetone, which removes lipids and water while preserving the antigens. Incubating an antiserum with acetone powder from the host species or an unrelated tissue lets cross-reactive antibodies bind to the powder and be removed, lowering background in immunohistochemistry, western blotting and other immunoassays.

Yes, our rabbit tissues are collected from our Rogers, AR rabbit processing facility, where a USDA inspector remains on site at all times during processing. Each rabbit processed is inspected and any by-products collected are discarded should any animal be found to be unfit for human consumption or otherwise unsuitable for use.
