Factor H Depleted Human Serum
Normal human serum depleted by immunoaffinity chromatography. >50 mg protein per mL. Activity >80% vs. normal human serum standard when reconstituted with factor H (0.5 mg/mL factor H). Purity: No factor H detectable by immunodiffusion. Buffer: 10 mM sodium phosphate, 145 mM NaCl, pH 7.3. 0.22 µm filtered. Stored with 0.1 mM EDTA to inhibit spontaneous activation. Functional alternative complement pathway only if a controlling factor such as factor H is added prior to metal ions (specifically Mg++).
